He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his son, Anthony, who will always remember him as a loving husband, a devoted father, and a man who knew how to make ordinary moments feel like something worth celebrating. Alex carried himself with a kind of easy confidence that made people feel comfortable around him, as if he had already decided that life was serious enough and somebody ought to lighten the mood. Fortunately for everyone around him, that somebody was often Alex.
Alex’s path included his education with Local 399 engineer training, and he built his career with the steady hands and dependable presence of an apprentice engineer at Hines Riverpoint. He dedicated over 10 years to the safety and security of the Goose Island Mars campus, where he served with professionalism, commitment, and the kind of responsibility that made people sleep better at night. Contracted under Securitas, Allied Universal, and DSI Security Services, Alex became known as someone who could be counted on no matter the hour, the weather, or the size of the problem. He did not just show up to work. He showed up with purpose, and in the world of security, that is no small thing. He was the kind of man who understood that being dependable is a superpower, even if it does not come with a cape, only a badge and a very serious walk.
Alex was also part of Club San Jerónimo, where his presence reflected his connection to community and friendship. He valued the people around him and made time for the relationships that gave his life meaning. He loved listening to music and dancing with his wife, Karen, and together they shared the kind of joy that makes a room feel warmer and a song feel better. He loved going out and having a good time with Karen and his friends, especially going to concerts and dancing the night away. If there was music playing, Alex was ready. If there was a dance floor, Alex was already halfway there. If there was a good time to be had, he seemed to have a sixth sense for finding it.
Those who knew Alex will remember that he loved helping others in any way he could. That was not just a nice trait. It was part of who he was. He had a generous heart and a willingness to lend a hand, offer support, or simply be present when someone needed him.
