Passed away peacefully at The Villa in Midland on Monday, April 13, 2026, in her 98th year. Born and raised in Penetanguishene, she was the daughter of Anthony and Eva Gendron. She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Arthur Busby, two sons (Wesley and Arthur), her brothers Wallace (Marjorie) and Gordon (Margaret), sisters Gretchen, Ruth (Cecil Belsey), and Margaret (Ted Brock). She was a loving mother to Melanie (Goldie Edworthy) and Kat (Bruce Dawson). Grandfather of Jeremy Busby (Lauren) and great grandfather of Avery Busby.
A primary school teacher in Coldwater, Hanover, and Chatham, people will remember Evelyn as a curious person.
She loved life and over the years enjoyed singing in the choir at St. James on the Lines, curling, gardening, serving her community as a Kinette, reading a good mystery, and taking long walks on Deanlea Beach.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
