Donald R. Mertz was also known as Don Don, Donnie, Don Richies and Mertz. Donald R. Mertz, 47, of Easton passed away on March 1, 2026, at home. He was the partner of Cynthia M. Bryson of Easton for 30 years. Donald was a warehouse worker at IHerb. Prior to that, he worked at Lifetime Doors and Concrete Safety Systems and Dunkin Donuts. Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Floyd Hineline and the late Helen Marie (Snyder) Mertz.

He was preceded in death by Brothers: George L. Mertz III, Floyd Hineline, Jr. Justin Hineline and Jody Hineline, Sister: Janelle Hineline, Grandmother: Henrietta “Hanky” Butler Snyder and Grandfather: Donald R. Snyder.

Survivors: Partner: Cynthia M. Bryson of Easton, Stepson: Jarrid L. Jones of Easton, David Boivin, his mom’s companion of 35 years of Easton, Sister: Christine Hineline of North Carolina, Brother: Michael Hineline of Allentown, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Best Friends like brothers: Mikal Favorite and Michael Love.

Donald also loved football and his team was Washington. Donald also loved listening to music and singing. He liked telling jokes and making people laugh. Cynthia always said that he should have been a comedian. Donald loved helping people and had a good heart for others. Donald loved his Cindy so much, she was his everything. Donald loved his cousins, Sky, Zack, Courtney and Aubrey. Donald went to church and belonged to The Rose of Sharon Church in Easton. Donald’s love will carry on and he will be missed.

A Memorial Service for Donald will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Rose of Sharon Church 120 South 12th Street Easton, PA.
